NORFOLK SOUTHERN MAXIMUM WEIGHTS


Effective Saturday, September 1, 2007, the maximum gross weights for Norfolk Southern Intermodal shipments will change from 65,000 lbs. to the following:

" 67,200 lbs. for 40' - 53' containers without chassis (COFC)

" 52,900 lbs. for 20' containers (COFC)

" 65,000 lbs. for Trailers or containers on chassis (TOFC)

At no time can lading in containers exceed the maximum allowable weight as stated on the manufacturer's plate on the container or trailer.

Maximum gross weight is defined as the combined weight of the lading and the tare weight of the equipment.

Weight restrictions apply to all shipments, including equipment received or delivered in interchange or from an on-dock or private facility.
